Survey Solutions Scotland believes in the importance of structured training. A skilled workforce will maximise your investment, leading to an increase in productivity and decrease in downtime, which of course leads to greater financial returns. It isn't just about that though, once you've attended one of our structured training courses you'll have a better grasp of the capabilities of the equipment you're working with, and also of the most efficient means of doing what you're trying to do with it. Afterwards, if you need to call Survey Solutions for support you'll be in a better position to ask the right questions, and understand the answers. Everybody wins that way. Structured training can also be logged as CPD hours as part of your Continued Professional Development requirements, that's another good reason to invest in quality training. Survey Solutions Scotland can fulfil your training requirements, whether they are at introductory, or advanced levels, or held at your premises or our office in Loanhead. Training Schedule: We are now running regular courses*, open to all, which will be held at our Edinburgh office. These run on a half (9am -1pm), or full day basis (9am -5pm). Simply contact Survey Solutions Scotland with details of the training you wish to attend and we'll get back to you as soon as possible with available dates. 2010 dates: Trimble Survey Controller (1 day) 16 November Trimble Access (1 day) 14 December 2011 dates: Trimble Survey Controller (1 day) 18 January Trimble Access (1 day) 22 February *Unless a client has specifically requested exclusivity for an entire course, bookings will be taken on a first come first served basis until the course is full. Custom Training: We can also deliver bespoke training courses which are completely flexible allowing you to attend training which is designed specifically for your workflow, and for your projects. Custom training can include particular combinations of topics to be taught or involve certain types of equipment. Give us a call and work with our dedicated training team to customise your training to your exact requirements. Currently we are offering custom courses in: Using TBC for Post-processing, RTK or Terrestrial data Terramodel for Site Modelling Introductory or Advanced Realworks for Processing Spatial Imaging data Understanding and using GNSS equipment Getting the most out of Survey Controller or Access Survey training for Graduate / Junior Site Engineers and Surveyors Using LSS (McCarthy Taylor Systems) with Trimble survey equipment Scroll down for detailed descriptions of these training courses or alternatively, contact Survey-Solutions-Scotland to discuss your specific requirements and we can work together to decide on the most appropriate training for your needs. Using Trimble Business Centre for Post processing, RTK or Terrestrial data Overview: With Trimble Business Centre software you can effortlessly transfer GNSS and optical field data into the office for data processing. TBC allows seamless data exchange between Trimble systems and standard data formats, so, after effortless import and processing, simply export your data to the third-party design software of choice. In addition to GNSS data processing, TBC provides Survey feature coding, surface modelling, earthwork calculations and road data management tools. Objectives: Create Projects for various coordinate systems, Import, process and troubleshoot raw GNSS data, Adjust your data, Perform Site Calibrations that can be used in Survey Controller or Access, Process feature codes, Create and edit surfaces and Transfer Data to third party software or Trimble devices. This course is ideal for both experienced and junior Engineers and Surveyors Contact Survey Solutions Scotland for a comprehensive course syllabus. Terramodel for Earthworks & Site modelling Overview: Terramodel is Trimble's original drafting, engineering and design package. This course provides an overview of the drafting and engineering capabilities of Terramodel allowing the Site Surveyor or Engineer to fulfil their requirements for office deliverables. Objectives: Import Raw Total station, GNSS coordinate data, XYZ, DXF and other data files, Draft surveyed points and lines with the Autodraft command, Generate models, edit triangles and breaklines, Produce contours, Generate profiles, cross sections and Volume reports, Export data in various industry formats. Contact Survey Solutions Scotland for a comprehensive course syllabus. Introduction to Laser Scanning with the Trimble FX and Realworks Overview: Realworks is the Post Processing software for 3D spatial imaging (laser scanning) data. 3D Scanning is a powerful technology that uses laser measurement technology to obtain measurements at many thousands of points per second. Laser scanning offers great productivity benefits if you can use the full capabilities of the Realworks processing software, but like everything else, it is of limited value if you don't understand how to Make the most of the data you collect. This course will teach you how to produce deliverables from your point cloud that your client will be satisfied with. This course provides an introduction into the techniques required when using Trimble scanners, and will show you the most efficient workflow when using Realworks to ensure your deliverables are produced on time and to spec. Suitable for Surveyors or Engineers with no experience with Laser Scanning technology. Objectives: Understand and use the Trimble scanners efficiently and productively. Import, manage and manipulate point cloud data, Registartion of the point cloud, Selection and segmenation of the point cloud data, Mesh creation for modelling and photo rendering, Cross section creation for export to AutoCAD, Produce volume and surface comparisons.
