A Complete System For Engineering Applications

The Trimble S8 Total Station works with Trimble Survey Controller^TM field software and Trimble® 4D Control^TM processing software to provide a seamlessly connected, complete solution for engineering jobs.

With 1" angular accuracy and EDM precision of 1 mm + 1 ppm, the Trimble S8 is equipped with unique features to support engineering jobs, including:

• Trimble® FineLock^TM technology: FineLock technology is a smart tracker sensor with a narrow field of view that enables the Trimble S8 to detect a target without interference from surrounding prisms. This is especially useful in engineering applications such as monitoring and tunneling where multiple targets with very tight spacing are used.
  
• 10 Hz high-speed synchronized data output makes data collection faster and more accurate, e.g., during railway monitoring a trolley or ATV, the prism can move more quickly without compromising accuracy.
  

The software elements of the system include:

• The Trimble Survey Controller Engineering module: This option makes it easy for surveying businesses to expand into engineering applications.
  
• Trimble 4D Control is new postprocessing software designed for engineering applications. It reads data from Trimble Survey Controller and allows users to accurately depict and interrogate the data to determine movement over time.
